Description

The RAID 8 Biothreat Detection Kit is a pre-screening device designed to quickly evaluate any unknown powder or liquid in the lab or out in the field. Alexeter technologies RAID 8 Kit analyzes environmental samples then identifies if any of the specified biological threats (antigens) listed below, are detected. A positive test signifies the presence of the antigen at or exceeding the threshold.

RAID 8 kit detects the following:

• Anthrax – Anthrax causes blisters and black sores on the skin. If a person inhales or ingests anthrax, it causes fever, chills, nausea, vomiting, weakness, and fainting.
• Botulinum Toxin – Bodulinum toxins cause difficulty swallowing, muscle weakness, double vision, drooping eyelids, slurred speech, and difficulty breathing.
• Brucella – Brucella causes fever, sweats, malaise, anorexia, headache, muscle pain, joint pain, back pain, and fatigue.
• Orthopox – Orthopox viruses include smallpox, monkeypox, and cowpox and can cause fever, malaise, and skin lesions. Monkeypox, cowpox, and vaccinia also cause headaches and lymphadenopathy.
• Plague – Plague causes fever, headache, weakness, and pneumonia. If left untreated for 2 to 4 days, pneumonia causes respiratory failure and shock.
• Ricin –  If a person ingests ricin, it causes vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, low blood pressure, and seizures.
• Staphylococcal enterotoxin B – If ingested, staphylococcal enterotoxin B causes acute salivation, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal cramps.
• Tularemia – Tularemia causes skin ulcers, swollen lymph glands, itchy eyes, mouth sores, sore throat, itchy eyes, and pneumonia.

RAID 8 Multi test strips

Store at room temperature 59F – 86F. The RAID 8 kit can be used until the expiration date printed on the package. Kits also exhibit higher sensitivity levels. It’s important to note that the actual sensitivity of the test may vary due to the variable antigen preparations. As with all tests, results from any Raid 8 Alexeter technologies kit should be confirmed by a qualified laboratory.
