Description
The BioCheck Powder Screening Test Kit 20/20 is a rapid, field-deployable tool used primarily by first responders to screen suspicious powders for the possible presence of biological agents.
The kit includes a test device, swabs, solutions, control and instructions.
It quickly detects the presence or absence of a biomolecule common to all living organisms and many toxins. This BioCheck suspicious test kit provides a fast screening method for bioterrorism threats like anthrax and ricin toxin, while also eliminating most everyday substances that the public may mistakenly fear as weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

Field Testing and Validation
Extensive field tests and independent evaluations have demonstrated that the BioCheck Powder Screening Test Kit is a reliable initial screening tool. In over 50 real-world incidents, the kit was able to rule out potential bioterrorism threats in more than 80% of cases, reducing unnecessary escalations and resource deployments. Moreover, studies and tests conducted by independent laboratories have confirmed the kit’s effectiveness in detecting significant amounts of dangerous agents, such as anthrax spores.
Rapid Bioterrorism Detection: BioCheck Suspicious Powder Screening Kit
Results are available in five minutes or less without the need for any instrumentation. A sample is collected using two swabs and then placed in a solution that changes color only if a biological agent is present. The powder screening test kit also verifies that a negative result is not due to a malfunction of the test. This ensures that first responders can immediately determine whether there is any risk of exposure to a biowarfare agent.

Cal OES MEL NON-AGENT SPECIFIC BIOLOGICAL DETECTION: A sampling and detection system which will screen for presence of a biological substance based upon fluorescence technologies. Is not agent specific, only gives a “yes” or “no” that a suspect biological agent might be present with reliability of less than 50%. Confirmation and agent identification for more reliable hazard assessment requires further, more advanced field testing, or samples sent in for laboratory analysis.
Requires one kit complete, of those listed for #1.5.1 or #1.5.2 for Type 1 team and Optional for Type 2 teams.
