Description

The Chlorine Institute Cylinder Emergency Kit A contains devices to stop leaks during the event of a chlorine tank emergency. It fixes leaks at the valve, fusible plug, and in the side walls of chlorine 100 & 150 lb. cylinders which conform to specification DOT 3A480. This chlorine emergency kit additionally includes two instruction booklets that explain the application of each device.

Indian Springs manufactures the hazmat Chlorine A Kit to the design specifications of the Chlorine Institute.

Emergency Kit A Features

Devices

  • #1: designed to contain leaks in and around the cylinder valve.
  • #2: a clamping device to seal leaks in and around the cylinder valve fusible plug.
  • #8: a patching device designed for sealing leaks in the cylinder side wall. Kit A also includes a variety of hand tools, inspection seals and additional sealing devices.

 

Indian Springs labels all items with a part number and color codes them red. Then, it stores them inside a durable polyethylene tool box.

*Emergency responders can also use the Chlorine Institute Recovery Vessel to encapsulate a leaking cylinder for shipping.

The Chlorine Institute Emergency Kit is the only US DOT approved capping device that hazmat responders can legally apply to a leaking chlorine cylinder for shipping over the road.
