Strong performance for maximum safety

You can rely on the Dräger Pac 8500 Single Gas Monitor for precise and reliable readings even in extreme conditions. Its powerful sensors with a low t-90 response time ensure rapid detection of gases. In addition to standard alarms, the Pac 8500 allows for setting extra alarm thresholds for TLV/TWA* and STEL*.

The device features a data and event logger that records concentrations and events with timestamps. This data can be downloaded to a PC via an interface for further processing. With the new Gas Detection Connect system and integrated X-dock stations, you can access and manage these logs from a central cloud-based asset management system, providing flexibility and accessibility from anywhere.

*TLV/TWA = Threshold Limit Values / Time Weighted Average, STEL = Short Term Exposure Limit

Convert to two-gas detection device using a dual sensor

With the Dräger Pac 8500 series, your single-gas detection device can be upgraded to a dual-sensor device. This series offers dual sensor combinations such as hydrogen sulfide with carbon monoxide or oxygen with carbon monoxide. Dual sensors allow for precise detection of low concentrations, all within a single, convenient device. Simultaneous measurement of two gases reduces downtime, enabling simultaneous vol.% measurements of oxygen and ppm measurements of carbon monoxide using just one sensor.

Measurement of carbon monoxide with significantly reduced cross sensitivity

In industries where measuring carbon monoxide alongside hydrogen as a background gas is necessary, the accuracy of the carbon monoxide measurement can be affected by cross sensitivity. Dräger’s special hydrogen-compensated CO sensor significantly minimizes this cross sensitivity, ensuring more accurate readings of carbon monoxide.

Robust design – even for the toughest conditions

The Single Gas Detector Pac 8500 excels in extreme conditions, with sensors capable of withstanding air pressures between 700 and 1,300 mbar. A membrane filter safeguards the sensor against dust and liquid contaminants, while its IP68-rated, shock-proof, chemical-resistant housing ensures durability and reliability.

Easy handling thanks to clear user guidance

The D-Light feature on the Dräger Pac 8500 indicates if the device has undergone functionality testing and is ready for use. The housing of each sensor variant is designed with safety in mind, incorporating clear and visible color coding to minimize the likelihood of errors.

User-friendly display with all important information

The large display on the Dräger Pac 8500 is non-verbal and effectively shows the respective gas concentration. It also displays critical information like unit of concentration and battery capacity. With its bright backlighting, the display ensures all values remain easily readable even in low-light or dark environments.

360° alarm with various functions

If the Draeger Pac 8500 Single-Gas Detector detects hazardous gas concentrations, it triggers an audible, visual, and vibrating alarm to alert the user. Bright LEDs positioned on the top and bottom of the device ensure the alarm is highly visible from all angles. The acoustic signal reaches a volume of 90 dB for effective notification. The display can indicate the peak concentration measured at any moment, and previously registered alarms can be recalled later, even if they have been acknowledged.

For models equipped with an oxygen sensor, the Pac 8500 offers two additional alarm thresholds beyond the standard settings, enhancing safety by providing pre-alarm alerts for both oxygen-enriched and oxygen-deficient atmospheres.

Data logger and event logger for analyses and reports

The Dräger Pac 6500 records concentrations and events along with their corresponding dates and times. This data can be conveniently transferred to a computer for detailed analysis and further processing. Through the Gas Detection Connect system and integrated X-dock stations, users can access and download these logs from a central cloud-based asset management system, ensuring accessibility from any location and at any time.

Bluetooth communication

With the new Bluetooth enabled Pac, you can wirelessly transmit real-time measurement values into the Dräger Gas Detection Connect system. This capability allows for seamless tracking of worker locations and their Pac devices through integration with the Gas Detection Connect gateway app. Additionally, Dräger Pac devices support integration into third-party applications via the OpenGATT protocol, enhancing flexibility and compatibility across various operational environments.

Economical operating costs

All versions of the Dräger Pac 8500 are equipped with robust DrägerSensors and a powerful battery, ensuring durability and reliable performance. Protected by a specialized membrane filter, the Draeger Pac 8500 monitor is safeguarded against water, dust, and other contaminants. If the filter becomes heavily soiled during use, it can be easily replaced by the user, ensuring minimal downtime. The device’s long-lasting battery eliminates the need for daily charging, making it convenient to handle in various work environments.

Fast function test saves time and money

Function tests and calibrations are efficiently conducted using the Dräger X-dock calibration station. The automatic bump tests in the X-dock are both cost-efficient and convenient, characterized by short test durations and minimal consumption of test gas. When placed in the bump test station, the single gas detector for hazmat Pac 8500 automatically selects the appropriate settings, streamlining the calibration process.
