Description

This is the Sulfur Dioxide Ton Container Gasket Set (Kit-B).

Indian Springs designed the Sulfur Dioxide Ton Container Gasket Sets (Kit-B) to compliment existing Chlorine Institute Emergency Kits for use on sulfur dioxide containers.  Simply substitute the sulfur dioxide gaskets for the chlorine gaskets to contain leaks. EPDM acceptable for use with ammonia as well. Shelf-Life: 5 years, manufacturer’s recommendation. Preferably, hazmat responders should cover the gasket material. This is so that light, radiation and humidity or vapors cannot get to the material.  Ideal storage temperature should be at 70° F.

EPDM:  Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer. Material has the highest rating of any gasket material for use with Sulfur Dioxide. However, Indian Springs does not recommend using EPDM with Chlorine and Viton. This is similar to avoiding the use of EPDM with Sulfur Dioxide and Ammonia.

About Indian Springs

Indian Springs Manufacturing Co., Inc. has been designing and manufacturing hazardous materials emergency equipment since 1958. Beginning as a small job shop, serving primarily Central New York, it gained a hard-earned reputation for quality manufacturing. Among the custom products manufactured were emergency kit components for a chlorine producer in Solvay, NY. Indian Springs eventually took over the production and sales of these emergency kits directly by the mid 1960’s. It also became a member of the Chlorine Institute. The company commits to manufacturing technology while gaining valuable engineering experience. This way, it has been able to expand its capabilities with a variety of innovative products and services. It has grown over the decades to become the global source for compressed gas hazardous materials containment solutions.
