  • Designed for long-duration operations
  • Uses compressed oxygen with CO₂ scrubbing for efficient air reuse
  • Compact, balanced design to reduce wearer fatigue
  • Clear visual indicators for system and breathing status

Perfectly made for long-duration deployment

To enhance your protection, the system uses a positive-pressure breathing circuit that actively blocks hazardous substances from entering the sealed system. During exhalation, a CO₂ absorber removes carbon dioxide. Then, before inhalation, the system cools and enriches the air with oxygen at a steady rate.

Furthermore, the system can adjust oxygen delivery to match your work rate. This extends duration during low-intensity operations and ensures your equipment performs as efficiently as you do in critical situations.

Ergonomically designed with safety and visibility in mind

The weight of the system is evenly distributed thanks to a smart carrying design, making it easier and more comfortable to wear during long missions. Additional safety features include highly visible reflectors and a buddy light system, helping your team see you and monitor the status of your apparatus.

Easier to breathe and easier to use

The cooling system includes advanced regeneration material and a simplified ice system, which lower the temperature of inhaled air without opening the breathing loop or removing components. The larger cooling surfaces provide comfortable air for longer periods. Key components in the breathing loop have also been redesigned to reduce breathing resistance and improve comfort.

Blue color-coded touchpoints throughout the breathing apparatus make the handling more intuitive and therefore reduce your training efforts and equipment downtime. Some of the system components from the well-known PSS BG 4 can be carried over: the FPS 7000 full-face mask, in-mask communication, test equipment, oxygen booster pump, and Drägersorb.

Staying connected in the most challenging environments

Vital information like cylinder pressure, warnings, and time-to-whistle is now easier to read on a high-contrast, full-color display. The BG ProAir’s integrated RFID tracks absorber status. Additional features include PASS functionality and temperature monitoring.

Getting home healthy

To reliably protect you against toxic ambient gases, the Drager BG ProAir maintains positive pressure even during increased breathing rates. Its smart onboard electronics include a low-pressure sensor that alerts you if oxygen levels drop, ensuring safe and reliable breathing. The sensor also performs a low-pressure leak test to continuously monitor the system’s integrity.

Going the extra mile

With its fully closed housing, the BG ProAir has been tested to the EN standards for heat, flame, and chemical resistance providing you with safe breathing air according to international standards.

Maximizing your equipment’s uptime

We understand that your time is valuable. That’s why plug’n’play connectors make the apparatus easy to assemble and disassemble, reducing training time. No tools are needed for maintenance, and service requirements are minimal—for example, the reducer only needs to be replaced every 10 years.

Quick to clean and smart to cool

We have streamlined every aspect of cleaning the apparatus. It is fully machine washable with fewer parts to disassemble. The waterproof harness detaches easily from the housing, making cleaning faster and drying simpler. The cooling system is redesigned for easier reuse of ice packs and regeneration material. Ice packs freeze quickly without handling water, and regeneration material stores safely at temperatures below 25 °C (77 °F) without ice.

Closed Circuit Breathing Apparatus Dräger BG ProAir

A closed-circuit breathing apparatus (CC-SCBA), also called a rebreather, is a type of respiratory protection that recycles exhaled air to provide breathable oxygen in hazardous or oxygen-deficient environments. Unlike open-circuit SCBA systems, it removes carbon dioxide from exhaled air and replenishes it with oxygen from a small internal supply, creating a sealed breathing loop.

This design lets users operate for extended periods, typically 1–4 hours, while keeping the system compact and lightweight. As a result, closed-circuit breathing apparatuses are commonly used in mine rescue, tunnel operations, shipbuilding, and hazardous materials response, where long working times and mobility are essential.
