Detector

This features an internal halogen-quenched, uncompensated GM tube equipped with a thin mica window (1.4–2.0 mg/cm² areal density) and an effective window diameter of 45 mm (1.77 in), ensuring high sensitivity and reliable detection across multiple radiation types.

Operating Range

  • mR/hr – .001 (1µR) to 100
  • CPM – 0 to 350,000
  • µSv/hr – .01 to 1000
  • CPS – 0 to 5000
  • Total Counts- 1 to 9,999,000 counts

Energy Sensitivity

  • Detects alpha particles down to 2 MeV
  • Detects beta radiation down to 0.16 MeV with approximately 25% detection efficiency at 1 MeV
  • Detects gamma and x-rays down to 10 keV through the detector window
  • Provides a sensitivity of 3340 CPM per mR/hr (Cs-137)
  • Smallest detectable level for Iodine-125 (¹²⁵I) is 0.02 µCi at contact
