For fire departments, hazmat teams or others needing to stock apparatus to meet the MEL requirements, the following are needed.
MEL 13.2.5 SCREWDRIVER, FLAT HEAD, KIT: To consist of at least any three of the following, in either short or long handle: Standard flat head – Small, medium, large, extra-large; Non-Sparking acceptable.
MEL 13.2.6 SCREWDRIVER, PHILLIPS, KIT:To consist of at least any three of the following, in either short or long handle: Phillips No. 1, 2, 3, 4.; Non-Sparking acceptable.
MEL 13.3.5 NON-SPARKING, SCREWDRIVER, FLAT HEAD, KIT: To consist of at least any three of the following, in either short or long handle: Standard flat head tip– Small, medium, large, extra-large.
MEL 13.3.6 13.3.6 NON-SPARKING, SCREWDRIVER, PHILLIPS, KIT: To consist of at least any three of the following, in either short or long handle: Phillips No. 1, 2, 3, 4.
Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3 teams require one of each kit.
