Description

The Handheld Combustible Gas Leak Detector delivers superior sensitivity down to 5 ppm of methane. That is twice as sensitive as many competing detectors. It also identifies a wide range of hazardous gases, including ammonia, propane, ethanol, and hydrogen sulfide.

Inficon GAS-Mate Combustible Gas Leak Detector

With twice the sensitivity of many competing detectors, GAS-Mate can identify leaks as low as 5 ppm of methane – the main component of natural gas. It also detects a wide range of other combustible gases, including ammonia, propane, ethanol, and hydrogen sulfide.

Key Features

  • Multiple LEDs, variable intensity audio alarm indicate leak strength
  • Adjustable sensitivity helps pinpoint leaks fast
  • Also detects natural gas, forming gas, propane, butane, cyclopentane, ethane, ethanol, isobutane and ammonia
  • Great for flammable refrigerants like R290, R600a, and R441a!
  • Detects forming gas (95% nitrogen, 5% hydrogen)
  • Auto zeroing for ignoring background gas levels in leak test area
  • Small sensor and probe tip permit leak checking in tighter places
  • Certified intrinsically safe by MET Laboratories for use in combustive/explosive environments

Precision Leak Detection Made Easy

INFICON sets a new standard for combustible gas detection with the GAS-Mate — the go-to tool for locating leaks in forming gas, flammable refrigerants, or combustible heating and appliance systems. Designed for safety and performance, GAS-Mate is intrinsically safe, giving you the confidence to check for leaks in any environment.

Cal OES MEL 2.2.1 TOXIC VAPOR, IN PPM: Capable of detecting combustible atmospheres (VOC – Volatile Organic Compounds) and toxic vapors (TIC – Toxic Industrial Compounds); Resistant to damage from chlorinated hydrocarbons; Data downloadable to computer. May be suitable for Benzene ring substances.

Requires 1 unit of Inficon gas leak detector for each Type 1 and Type 2 teams.

A combustible gas leak detector is a safety device used to find and measure the presence of flammable gases in the air – such as methane, propane, hydrogen, or other hydrocarbons – before they reach dangerous levels that could cause fire or explosion.

Here’s a quick breakdown:

  • Purpose: Detects leaks from gas lines, appliances, and storage tanks.
  • How it works: It senses gas concentrations in the air and alerts the user (through sound, light, or a digital display) when gas levels are too high.
  • Importance: Prevents accidents, fires, or explosions by identifying leaks early.
  • Common uses: Homes, industrial plants, HVAC systems, and laboratories.
