Strong performance for maximum safety

You can rely on the Dräger Pac 8500 for accurate and consistent gas readings, even in extreme environments. Its advanced sensors feature a low t-90 response time, enabling rapid detection. Beyond standard alarms, the device allows you to set additional thresholds for TLV®/TWA and STEL levels.

The Pac 8500 includes a data and event logger that records gas concentrations and incidents with timestamps. This information can be transferred to a PC for further analysis via an interface. Integrated with the new Gas Detection Connect system and X-dock stations, the device enables centralized, cloud-based access to logs—available anytime, from anywhere.

Convert to two-gas detection device using a dual sensor

With the addition of a dual sensor, your single-gas pac 8500 draeger  can be easily upgraded to a two-gas detection device. The Pac 8500 series supports the following sensor combinations: hydrogen sulphide with carbon monoxide, or oxygen with carbon monoxide. These dual sensors allow for the detection of even low gas concentrations—conveniently within one compact device. Simultaneous measurement of two gases not only enhances efficiency but also minimizes downtime. You can measure oxygen in vol.% and carbon monoxide in ppm at the same time using just one sensor.

Measurement of carbon monoxide with significantly reduced cross sensitivity

In industries where carbon monoxide is measured in the presence of hydrogen, cross-sensitivity can distort CO readings. Dräger’s specially designed hydrogen-compensated CO sensor significantly reduces this interference, providing more accurate carbon monoxide measurements.

Robust design – even for the toughest conditions

The Pac 8500 is built to perform reliably even in tough environments. Its sensors can withstand air pressures ranging from 700 to 1,300 mbar, while a membrane filter shields them from dust, liquids, and other contaminants. Housed in a shock-proof, chemical-resistant casing, the device meets the rigorous IP68 standard for durability.

Easy handling thanks to clear user guidance

The D-Light shows whether the device has passed its functionality test and is ready for use. For added safety, each sensor variant of the Dräger Pac 8500 is color-coded for easy identification, helping to reduce the risk of errors.

User-friendly display with all important information

The large, icon-based display clearly shows the gas concentration without using words. It also presents key details like the unit of measurement and battery level. Thanks to its bright backlight, all information remains easy to read, even in low-light conditions.

Detect 3 Substances

  • Carbon monoxide
  • Hydrogen sulphide
  • Oxygen

360° alarm with various functions

When the Dräger Pac 8500 detects dangerous gas levels, it triggers a loud, visible, and vibrating alarm. Two bright LEDs at the top and bottom make the alert easy to spot from any angle, while the audible alarm reaches 90 dB. The display shows the peak gas concentration detected, and past alarms can be reviewed later—even after they’ve been acknowledged.

For versions equipped with an oxygen sensor, the Pac 8500 offers two extra alarm thresholds on top of the standard settings, providing added flexibility for safety monitoring.

Data logger and event logger for analyses and reports

The dräger gas monitor records gas concentrations and events with precise date and time stamps. This data can be easily transferred to a computer for further analysis. With the Gas Detection Connect system and integrated X-dock stations, you can access and download logs through a centralized, cloud-based asset management platform—available anytime, from anywhere.

Bluetooth communication

The new Bluetooth-enabled Pac allows live gas measurements to be wirelessly transmitted to the Dräger Gas Detection Connect system. By linking the device to the Gas Detection Connect gateway app, you can also monitor the real-time location of both the worker and their Pac device. Additionally, Pac devices support integration with third-party applications through the OpenGATT protocol.
