Description

The Personal Mercury Vapor Detector works by monitors airborne mercury concentrations directly in the breathing zone. It provides protection without disrupting tasks and ensures continuous, real-time readings for rapid responses to hazards. In addition, the built-in data logging system records exposure throughout the shift, supporting accurate tracking and compliance.

Mercury Detection Equipment

Mercury vapor is a powerful neurotoxin that exists naturally in the environment. Workplace risks, however, depend heavily on the setting and the tasks performed. In many industrial operations, mercury can build up to dangerous levels. As a result, workers face significant exposure risks if monitoring is not in place.

Proven Technology for Reliable Early Warning Field Detection

  • Uses plasmonic sensors.
  • 0 to 10,000 µg/m3 (micrograms per cubic meter)
  • Stores up to 6 months of data internally
  • 14 hours battery life
  • Replaceable particulate filters

Rugged, Portable, and Effortless Operation

The MA-1 is built with a rugged design and offers unmatched portability compared to other mercury monitors. Operation is simple, just power it on, clip it in place, and it runs automatically without further input.

Moreover, when compared to the price of similar detectors, the MA-1 stands out as a cost-effective solution that balances durability, accuracy, and ease of use.

Proprietary Plasmonic Sensors

Picoyune’s proprietary plasmonic sensor technology delivers exceptional sensitivity and selectivity. With the MA-1, users can measure mercury vapor with confidence, free from cross-sensitivity issues that affect traditional UV spectroscopy.

Unlike other analyzers that produce false readings in the presence of hydrocarbons (BTEX, VOCs, etc.), the MA-1 ensures accurate results. Its detection range spans the full spectrum of hazardous mercury concentrations, from ultra-low parts-per-billion (ppb) levels up to quantitative accuracy beyond the IDLH threshold of 10,000 µg/m³.

Portable Mercury Detector

Mercury vapor is invisible, odorless, and highly toxic, making specialized instruments essential for accurate detection. Traditional laboratory methods such as atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) and atomic fluorescence spectroscopy (AFS) provide precise measurements but are stationary and impractical for real-time field use. In contrast, a mercury vapor analyzer only detects mercury vapors, ensuring accuracy without interference from other substances.

For on-site monitoring and occupational safety, field-portable mercury vapour detector is the most effective solution. These instruments are lightweight, easy to operate, and deliver immediate readings of mercury concentrations in the air. They are specifically designed for use in the breathing zone or in workplaces where mercury exposure is a concern.

Portable analyzers give industrial hygienists, environmental professionals, and safety officers the ability to:

  • Continuously monitor exposure in real time.
  • Set alarm thresholds for worker safety.
  • Log data over shifts for compliance and record-keeping.
  • Identify hot spots during site assessments or remediation work.
