M8 Chemical Detection Paper

Description

The M8 Chemical Detection Paper contains (25) M8 sheets per book, that are heat-sealed in a polyethylene envelope. Each page has three sensitive indicator dyes. When the M8 chemical paper comes into contact with liquid that contains nerve or blister agents, the indicator dyes in the paper react with the agents to produce colored dots. The color chart inside the M8 chemical agent book will help identify the agents detected.

The colors indicate the following:

• Yellow – G-type Nerve Agents
• Red – H-type Blister Agents
• Dark Green – V-type Nerve Agents

The M8 chemical agent detector paper is removed and applied to clothing, or some other surface, to expose it to drops of chemical or liquid splash. The chemical agent liquid detectors can be placed in contact with a liquid that may be suspected of being contaminated. If colored spots appear, a chemical agent is present.

The M8 booklet of chemical detector papers can not be used to detect chemical agents in water, or aerosol agents, or vapors in the air. It is best suited for non-porous materials. M8 paper may also be used to detect liquid contamination by placing the paper in contact with the suspected surface.
