Description

The Halogen and Freon Leak Detector is capable of detecting a wide-range of gasses including R134A, R410A, R22, R1234YF, R600a, R290, CFCs, HCFCs, HFCs, HCs, and HFOs. This powerful and economical HVAC tool equipped with a sensitive sensor, large display screen, easy-to-use buttons, all in a handheld unit. It utilizes the heated diode detection principle, offering a maximum sensitivity of up to 0.14 oz/yr with a response time of less than 3 seconds.

Includes gas leak detection device with flexible probe, case, USB charging cable and basic users manual.

When the refrigerant leak detector detects either halogens and freons, it beeps rapidly and displays the amount of gas on a colored graph. This new color graphic display helps locate leaks using a unique bar graph mode to show the amount of gas detected and changes colors as it gets closer to the leak. This device also has a reset function to identify leaks without false positives from background concentration. The 3000mAh rechargeable battery of this refrigerant gas leak detector lasts for up to 6 hours.

According to an article from Firehouse, Close Calls: Leaking Substance Affects Firefighters . . . halogen and freons can trigger fire alarms. These gasses can be dangerous to both unprepared firefighters and the building’s occupants. Firefighters might arrive at a scene where there is no fire, but there is a halogen and freon gas leak.

Without a freon gas detector, the firefighters remain unaware of this hazard. A Syracuse news article says that these gasses can cause dizziness, loss of consciousness, or in worst cases, death.

For this reason, the refrigerant freon leak detector is necessary so that firefighter teams can know if these gasses are present. That way, the firefighters can put on protective SCBA gear, evacuate the building’s occupants, and call for a hazmat team.
