U.S. EPA SW-846 Method 9079

Dexsil designed the Clor-N-Oil PCB testing kit for field use. It is a fast, accurate method to test electrical insulating fluids for the presence of PCB. Each pocket-sized kit contains everything necessary to perform the test in less than 5 minutes.

Dexsil sealed all pre-measured reagents in glass ampules for safe, fast, consistent and accurate results. Screening transformer oil with Clor-N-Oil can eliminate non-PCB fluids from costly laboratory analysis. It also allows hazmat workers to test a greater number of samples at less cost.

Clor-N-Oil is available for testing transformer oil at three different action levels; 20 ppm, 50 ppm and 500 ppm. To eliminate the possibility of false negatives, Dexsil calibrates all Clor-N-Oil test kits on Aroclor 1242.

Aroclor 1242 contains the least amount of chlorine (42% by weight) of the Aroclors found in electrical insulating fluids. By calibrating Dexil’s test kits using Aroclor 1242, the user obtains the most conservative results. When Clor-N-Oil test kits turn purple, the oil sample is below the action level.

The Clor-N-Oil kits are an appropriate method for testing DIELECTRIC FLUID (transformer oil) ONLY.  Hazmat responders cannot use them to determine PCB contamination of other types of oils. Those other types of oils include used motor oil or other types of lubricants/industrial oils.

Note: Restricted. Cannot ship internationally.
