The 908 Devices ThreatID Portable FTIR Multi-threat Identification is a portable spectrometer for chemical analysis. It uses Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR spectroscopy) analysis to identify hazardous chemical powders, liquids, and gases. Includes Pelican case with custom fit foam and fittings.

Cal OES MEL 1.3.3 SPECTROPSCOPY, INFRARED:

Requires 1 system for Type 1 teams. Suggested for Type 2 teams.

FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared) spectrometers identify unknown chemicals by measuring how a sample absorbs infrared light at different wavelengths. Each chemical produces a unique spectral “fingerprint,” which the device compares against an internal library to rapidly determine the identity of gases, vapors, powders, or liquids.
