Reaction Principle

Cross Sensitivity

The tube does not differentiate between different alcohols.

The tube indicates:

• 2-butanol with the same sensitivity. During the measurement of isobutanol with n = 2/10 strokes, multiply the concentration read by a factor of 0.4. During the measurement of tert-butanol with n = 2/10 strokes, multiply the concentration read by a factor of 3.0
• Methanol with 2 times (n=10) to 3 times (n=2) its sensitivity
• Ethanol and isopropanol with 1 time (n=10) to 2 times (n=2) their sensitivity
• Higher molecular alcohols with significantly decreasing sensitivity
• Ethers with a different sensitivity

 

The tube does not indicate:

• ≤ 25 ppm formaldehyde, ≤ 50 ppm acetaldehyde, and ≤ 50 ppm toluene
• Aliphatic petroleum hydrocarbons, ketones, esters, halogenated hydrocarbons and benzene
